If only modern Homo sapiens made it here, then you are correct Keith, but the evidence is mounting that this is not the case. I personally think other hominids made it here as well. I had no idea this was even remotely plausible, but began looking into over the years because of the rocks I was finding on sites with prehistoric context. The only things that resemble what I find are mousterian and to my untrained eye the best match is actually aboriginal Australian tools. So yes I believe we need to rethink what tools can look like in America, and if anyone knows where you can find pics of the pre-Clovis tools found at the Topper site, I would love to see them. I’ve found a few but not nearly enough to satisfy my curiosity.
