I've been off all week. I did a little land hunting 2 hours= $.19. I finished a little house painting touch-up on Wed. I did some stump grinding on Fri. I figured I'd treat myself to a water hunt. Air temp was around 80 water temp was 69. I got there just before 10 a.m. I saw 3 other hunters all with Excals. The beach was pretty crowded however only about 20% of them were going into the water. I stayed in the water until 5 p.m. The fog rolled in about mid afternoon lifeguards got people out of the water. I was in knee deep water and wading parallel to the beach so the lifeguard let me do my thing. The fog burned off and came back within the hour. It was surreal. I could barely see the hotels from the water(about 70 yds away). It was a good day despite the lack of finds. I ended with...........$.19 the highlight being 2 nickels in 1 scoop. I'm looking forward to spring break, it'll be my first in the water. HH and Happy New Year.

Yeah, it is an old BDU cap with a towel sewn on. That was me.

Willie....the wife & I were on Indians Rock beach when the fog rolled in..you could see it coming,it was so dense that when it rolled across boats out in the ocean they disappeared and then one by one the fog ate the hotels till I couldn't see my wife on the beach from where I was in the water...just like a horror movie !..it scared a lot of out of staters off the beach and back to their hotels.....what beach were you on when the fog rolled in ?......Rdi

Scoops of gold more often is all I ask ;D It seemed like almost everyone in the water was wearing a gold chain with a crucifix. I would've liked at least 1 of those. ;D

I know that feeling... I find myself looking at the gold people are wearing on airplanes, in the grocery stores, at the movies... and I think, "Dang, I'd LOVE TO follow these folks around at the beach and hope they drop some of it off for me!"
Sigh...

What makes it worse is that one guy asked me if I found anything yet. He had to of had the longest silver necklace on. Back before I got into the water, every other hunt I would have someone running up to me telling me that they had just lost a ring/necklace/earring in the water. Unfortunately I couldn't help them. Now that I'm in the water I haven't had one person come up to me like that. Go figure.
