No way that is any type of discoidal just amazed, listen to hippy, and read ALL of Charl's description.

Taking for granted that what you have there is an artifact ... I don't know that it is...
Also taking for granted that it is a quartzite material and not sandstone I would think if found on a site ..it could be either an abraiding stone for roughing up Flint while knapping or a pecking stone.
Definitely not a discoidal.
Charl gave a description for comparison ...he didn't describe that piece.

Just Amazed, I agree with Hippy and others that your find is not a discoidal or game stone. Folks have shown some nice cupped discoidals (refer to link I left). Here is another type of game stone, a biscuit discoidal, this one from RI. Biscuit discoidals have slightly convex faces and are not cupped....

Just Amazed, even my biscuit discoidal, while nicely fashioned of hardstone, is not a pretty and colorful stone so often typical of many discoidals of all varieties. Here is a page devoted to circle roller discoidals or game stones, so named because their shape caused them to roll in a circle, rather then straight as in the game chunky. You can best see the shape on the small example with catalog numbers on it in the photo:

Here is the eBay link you attempted to post. The dealer I know to be honest and knowledgable. The artifact has the right shape for a circle roller; it's not colorful, but that's not a deal breaker necessarily.

BTW, in scrolling through eBay discoidals just briefly, I noticed a few natural rocks, demonstrating what we all know anyway, namely eBay is full of rocks posing as artifacts as well as fakes posing as real.

I bet more than half the artifacts on eBay are fake and that is a conservative estimate... Many are missed type as well.

Hey Rock, This was found in Bastrop, Texas. 1/2-1 Mile from the Colorado River on Private Property ( With Permission Of Course ).

I have seen some really good artifacts come out of TX. Very good flaking from there. You should check the creeks and rivers. You should find some real keepers, Good Luck
