Rare North Carolina button, confederate?

That is one of the badest southern state buttons you can dig man! Either the FL Cherokee Rose or Arkansas button might be ahead of it and me being a North Carolinian would always put that above it. Banner all day long my friend. If you ever want to part with it let me know, serious bucks man. Kudos

THE BUTTON IS A NC10 IN ALBERTS BOOKJ, IT WAS MADE BY FERMIN CO FOR COOK BROTHERS WHO WERE CLOTHIERS, THE STORY IS THAT A FELLOW FROM WINSTON SALEM WENT TO LONDON TO BUY UNIFORMS FOR THE NC TROOPS (I HAVE HIS NAME SOMEWHERE AROUND HERE) IT IS THOUGHT THAT COOK BROTHERS MADE A FEW UNIFORMS FOR THE AGENT AS IT TURNED OUT THE NC AGENT DID NOT BUY ANY UNIFORMS MOST OF THE NON DUG ONES CAME FROM WINSTON SALEM, (I HAVE ONE FROM THERE) I HAVE SEEN A COUPLE OF DUG ONES AND HAVE HEARD OF A 3rd THAT IS THE STORY A GREAT BUTTON I LIVE ABOUT 29 MILES FROM NEW BERN AND I AM THERE OFTER I GO TO NEW BERN 3 TIMES A WEEK AND WOULD BE HONORED TO VIEW IT THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

I agree, I wouldn't do much cleaning on it myself. I have used aluminum jelly before and if left for to long on the button it will hurt it. That is an awesome find!! I found a beautiful Block R button a year or so ago at a civil war site in NC and all the experts have said it doesn't exist because no one has found one a variation like it.
