This was in a lot of poison bottles I got at auction. I am sure I am the first to notice the error. the N in "taken" is either backwards or is a K. also it is a boots cash bottle but it says cash boots on the back. I have tried and tried to find any mention of another error bottle like this one with no luck. Is my bottle truly unique?? PLEASE help me with my research I am at a total dead end! ???

I think you HAVE something there - but I'm no expert.
Take it to a dealer.

I believe the imprints were stamped while the glass was still hot,
and someone making the type stamp mis-spelled TAKEN,
then went back and "double-died" it, which would make it
pretty rare.

I believe the glass is blown in a mold, not stamped, or ABM mold. All the bottles probably have the same error because the mold was made in error. I doubt it would increase the value like coins. It is a very nice poison bottle.

ADDED: maybe SWR would know more.

Re: rare error or just an error? Please Please help!

Since the letters have to be cut into the mold reversed, like a mirror image, I would imagine this type of error happens quite often. I have seen other old hand blown bottles with a backwards letter or two. Whether or not it increases the value, I dont know.

I guess my real question is can anyone find another example of this error bottle or do I have the last surviving example, dare I hope?

You might want to contact the A.P.B.C.A. (Antique Poison Bottle Collectors Association).

AND THERE IS ONE! http://poisonbottleclub.org/
