Rare! War of 1812 Light Artillery 1st Regiment buttons x2!!!

I went back to "button hill" today and did real good! Found not only one but TWO Light Artillery 1st Regiment buttons today!! They are in beautiful shape. I also dug a 1858 Flaying Eagle, and a total of 25 buttons, the mouth to a Silver spoon and a blazin 1941 10K Gold class ring! It was a very productive day, I couldn't be any happier! Thanks for looking and HH!!

The buttons are awesome, and that ring is a honker... Congrats brother ...

this hunt qualifies for a banner day. can't imagine that kind of hunt here in florida. so big congrats on those digs.

Ryan those buttons are amazing! I just got my Alberts book yesterday so it was fun to check em out in the book. Gotta tell you it drives me crazy when indian heads and silver rings get more attention than these scarce important pieces of history but it's not my place to tell people what they should and shouldn't like. I love em man and they're in great condition. Congrats bro

Truly AWESOME Buttons & One of my "Bucket List" Finds ' A pre 1950 Class Ring'

IMO the Buttons & other Early 1800's pieces don't get the Attention they deserve cause such pieces can only be found
in The NE & maybe other small areas of the Country.

I'd "WET" myself if I dug such a Button here in N Ga.

Funny Ahab8
I also picked up my Alberts Button Book Yesterday.
IMO A must Have.

That's awesome buddy. I always want to look up all of these buttons and finally can. I love having all of these hardcover reference books. So much nicer than the internet.

Thanks man!

Yes it's frustrating to see posts about people finding there first pull tab get more replies then once in a lifetime find. Oh well at least a few good people appreciate good finds.
Thanks again!

Like our Wayne's Legion buttons pretty much going unnoticed, yet they are VERY important pieces of history. I don't get it, but I think like Davers said most people actually don't GET it and understand the history and importance of these finds. I bet this site holds some more "banner" finds.

Don't sweat it man. Most people are just coin people and some are jewelry lovers. Sadly it seems there's not all that many of us that are lovers of the true historical personal items that went into battle with a soldier or was dropped by a settler while trying to carve out a life in a strange new land.
I posted a 1787 Conn cent and a gorgeous 1802 Draped Bust on a local forum and they might get a couple "nice find" replies. Someone else posts a seated or a shiny barber and people go crazy. It is strange but it is what it is man. You've got incredible historic items in your collection and that's all that's important. Enjoy em

Thanks Davers. Where did you guys get your Alberts Buttons Book?
I would rather have a book of buttons then trying for hours searching the web with not much result.

I got mine on Amazon. It was about $50 with shipping. Worth every penny. The Tice is so damn expensive

I picked my Book at an antiques Store Here in Kennessaw Ga,..
Got Super lucky & paid $35 + tax and it's a Bicentennial Edition, '1976, published' that's in Like new Cond,.
It has that older book look, & being almost 40 years old is a Huge plus.

I have always wanted a Copy , but never found enough old buttons to justify buying it.
Just Good to Have, Imo the net can have To Much Info many times.

More info..

Just wanted to add , that on Friday I was driving around on of our Older City's & when I
passed the Sign " now entering Historic Roswell est, 1854".

I thought no wonder I don't find that many Old Buttons & Coppers like those guys on T-Net.

Just read that the Guy who founded the town was in the area in 1830 & thought it would be a good place for a Mill then came back later from Savannah with Slaves and Others who then built the Mill and it's Complex.

It's pretty bad when 1854 does not seem that old???

My wife & I have a Friends & the Girls Husband is from The Netherlands and She says he
always Smirks when she talks about a Old/ Historic Site Here.

I guess it all depends on ones Perspective .
