I work in a grocery store and got this in a bundle of fives from the bank the other day and was wondering what it might be worth. There is one on Ebay that sold for over 300 dollars (it was slabed and graded uncirculated). I really don't know paper money that well so I thought someone here would know.
There are no wrinkles or folds at all. The corners are all perfect. There is some kind of ink dot above the o on the face that goes thru the bill.

Your note is from the most common run of 4.352 million 2003a series $5 star notes. Worth $5. Also, there are clear wrinkles in that note, as well as a black marker mark at the top.

I knew it was to good to be true I also knew someone here would know and tell me. Thanks for the info. With all the star notes that I find I guess I really need to find a book on how to identify them. Thanks again.

Check out www.uspapermoney.info/serials

Great site to look up any short-run notes and production figures.

And/Or, you can pick up a copy of "Paper Money values" magazine the next time you are in a bookstore. I pick up a new one every year just to have an easy reference within arms reach. I check each *note either in this magazine or on the site that Dr. Detector gave you. Good luck,, Gpurs...

I'm struggling to figure out how to read that site.I have some 2 dollarI notes that have higher numbers than i see on the list.Does that site list all notes printed.

If the serial numbers are above x95999999x then you have a note originally printed for an uncut sheet and sold directly to collectors. Go to the main page, www.uspapermoney.info and you can navigate around to check the other notes not printed for general circulation.
