Having read the entry on the UKDFD, because its the first time I have seen one of these, it makes you wonder what use it was over here. There is some thought that even though we had a silver backed currency at this period that coins like my copper Liard of James II of Spain (Dutch Provence of Middelburg) 1580s circulated as small change, so I guess this would have as well. Most have been a nightmare to keep track of what was worth what from all these European countries
