austin said:NC field hunter, You always post cool stuff and can identify and describe things I can only guess about. Next time somebody rocks you just let me know and we'll give their name to a mexican drug lord here( we have mexican mafia, zeta and Sinoloa, I think. You can tell by the lady with the sombrero tattooed on their forearm), tell him they used his woman and said bad things about his mama and then we'll send flowers to the funeral. Teach them to mess with you.

I'm not saying they weren't used for anything, but if it is hard to tell, and the material is questionable, I just leave them be.
When my Dad began hunting in the late 40s, he didn't even keep broken points. That's going a little too far I believe, but If I can't see an obvious tool or artifact, I leave it....and I still have too many piles layin around!
GatorBoy said:Well put. I do the same. I leave plenty of definate artifacts right where they are. If I have no examples of a tool then of course. But sometimes I already have several nice ones and I see no need to bring home deteriorated or broken ones. Points I keep broke or not.
