There were many different styles made at different times and for different vendors...
 

i knew what it was it was my first it was broke into 4 shards in the same hole. what is interesting is i found it at a steam powered mill that blew up

i found a bunch of metal that had carbon on it and a bunch of little pieces of old burnt wood too and a piece of a push cart track

That's a hot job, especially in the Texas heat and humidity (depending on which part of the state). The jar could have contained water or some other "refreshing beverage". Also could have been used to take soup/stew to work, or to have held canned peaches. Hmm...now what on earth can be done with peaches......maybe make peach wine?!? :laughing7:

I had an uncle that used to buy booze in his town, then drive it to nearby dry counties and sell. He had some pretty hair-raising tales, that's fer sure!! :angel4:
