Black bart...
After seeing the new advisories ...
I would highly suggest you start making serious plan on evacuating your area.
I have been spending days prepping myself.
This may be ,"the one" that I have been warning about for years.
The Euro currently has track directly THROUGH your area.
Do NOT attempt to stay.
Do NOT wait until the last minute.
Do NOT listen to those who are saying they are "going to ride it out".

This may and very well could be the decision of your life.

Oh and JFYI...
One of the most intense hurricanes on record dubbed the "the labor day hurricane" struck the keys at a cat 3 level in 1935.
Distroying the keys... and leaving almost 500 dead.
Which considering the keys were undeveloped
... says alot.

This storm has "just begun".

It's path could turn toward my area after yours... which IMO is HIGHLY likely.

Ive had that feeling since I first saw it out there. Im am happily ahead of the game so far. I spent all day yesterday getting the yard squared away. Tools and equipment all stored away. Have a lot of yachts to secure starting Tuesday. Taking the 2 big yachts north to palm beach and having them hauled out of the water. Lots of work done and lots more to go. Glad I started yesterday. Might have to drag 700 lobster traps out to the deep to keep them from being swept away. Man......the more I think about it the more this is starting to suck. So much to do so little time. I have to do my personal stuff now so I can take care of all my customers boats all week long. Oh boy here we go, let the beatings begin. AARC your advice is well recieved and thanks for your concern. Keep your head down and your powder dry too.

Boss just said I can stay on the yacht if we evacuate. So all I have to do now is figure out witch direction to take the boat. Or I can go to the mountains of north carolina and dig gems from our property while the storm rages. Are house sits on the tailings of crabtree creek emarald mine. If im gonna evacuate im going somewhere that I can treasure hunt !!

Someone just said that it could be stronger than cat 5. They actually said cat 6 and there is no such thing !! That last report has everyone down here starting to worry. Just got a whole cluster of messages and emails.

As they most absolutely should worry.

Nothing but pure fuel ahead of it.

Baton down the hatches my friend... best of luck to you.

Oh boy.....here we go again.

Just got the last 2 cases of water from publix. Im sure there will be more, but theres already a run on water. Got to get this holiday over with soon and get these people out of here. Just had a pow wow with the neighbors on hurricane prep. Neighbors shutters got thrown out. Panic is starting to set in as the tracks dont look good for us right now. Usally we are spared when the cross hairs are on us this far out. Still preping. Time to build my bug out bag !!

I had the honor of meeting the current owner of this iconic piece of treasure history. No one has seen it or new where it was for the last 40 years. I will photograph and document it soon. You can read my story of rediscovery in the shipwreck forum.

Blak Bart, I wish I was around to lend a hand. I guess paradise can't exist w/o a cost.
Luck to all.
John

One more civil war era photo of the burnt-out ruins of the Richmond Arsenal, showing stacks of Heavy-Caliber cannonballs and explosion-strewn cannonballs, at Richmond VA, in mid-April 1865, shortly after the city fell to the yankees.

Remember, if you want to examine the ammunition or other details, you can click on the photo to enlarge it, and a couple more times for super-enlargement.

Each of y'all in the path of Hurricane Irma are in my prayers. Please take all prudent precautions and good care of yourselves.
