It's Silver? Yep, and its a Mercury Dime, too...!

Folks, here's my first silver dime (on the right), only flattened by a passing train...!
See the silhouette of Mercury on the elongated disk? - compare to the image of a coin on the left.
Also note the serrated (reeded) edge on my "coin" .
The silver of my find is quite tarnished. TnetDime.webp
No detail on reverse side. ...and NO date...! ...oh, WAIT!... Don't I see a "1916-D"...??? :laughing7:

It affected the "intire" planet. 8-)

I was trying to make it out. A Cane???
He died before I was born. Him and three others died in a huge storm swordfish fishing off the Grand Banks. Crazy he survived intense fighting against the Germans only to drown going back to fishing when he returned. What he did over there is still classified to this day for some reason. I was told he was a hell of a shot and my grandmother hinted on that he did some sniping over there but he wouldn't talk about it much. She finally got his medals from the government though. She just had her 90th birthday last Saturday! [emoji106]

Perhaps he's holding a swagger stick. What rank was he? Swagger sticks give non-coms something for their hands, because hands in pockets are no-no's. Those WWII guys were my hero's when I was a kid.

Hmmm now that's cool...

Never thought of using a pick up truck for a lure before.

I could be you. I will look into his rank. I think the display his medals are in at my grandmothers has his name and rank on it! [emoji106]
