A little background on my button:

I was in Virginia participating in an organised relic hunt. I had walked over three miles in day one, and four in day two. I wasn't finding diddly squat, meanwhile everybody else is pulling stuff out of the ground. I finally spotted an old stone chimney in the distance, and decided to go there. I found a 1700's dandy coat button, and ran back up the mountain to find my dad. When me, my dad, his friend and his son in law came back, we detected the site for about an hour. I got my FIRST signal all day, so I dug like a rabid animal hoping it was something good. Out popped a coin like disk. I showed t to my dad, and as he squinted, he said it was a George Washington inaugural button. I was overjoyed at hearing this, and I went right back to digging nothing.

A while later, he wanted to see the button again. By now, the dirt had dried, and some had fallen off. I gave him the button, and watched as his eyes began popping out of his sockets. "CS CS CS CS!" I looked up and yelled "where!?". Every digger within earshot scrambled over rocks, tools, other diggers and stumps to where we were. We were dumbfounded. We have neverr seen anything like this before. We swore everyone to secrecy, but by the next day, I was swamped with diggers congratulating me.

William Leigh, renowned Civil War button expert says that it is a 10 in a 1/10 button rarity scale, and only 30 some were known to be dug. It was worn by a Confederate Staff officer, most likely from J.E.B Stuarts cavalry, as they passed by the house in 1862.

Not bad for my first military button!

folks,

Just a heads up for those who may not know. I watch a lot of youtube videos mostly music, recipes and gardening related and it eats up a lot of bandwidth of my allowed 75 gig monthly allowance. Most videos can be played at 240 instead of the standard 480 youtube setting that way you use about 1/2 the amount of bandwidth. The setting can be changed using that little cogwheel bottom right hope this helps.

Simon, how's the book going?

==========

Good one, score another for Sis :BangHead: It is moving along slowly because of the amount of information. It is slower than I anticipated, but I want to do it right and do the subject justice :notworthy:

Maybe it is all one sentence, I am NOT good with punctuation :laughing7:
