Gotta love the 'Autonomous' mindset crap their trying to push.

Guess I am just old because I would NEVER trust a driverless vehicle, ( at least in my lifetime ). Just way to many variables. I saw that even the Post Office was testing driverless semi's. :dontknow:

Like you Roger, I am a car guy and I want to be in control.

This "driverless" road they are trying to pave... will leave a wake of joblessness.

Moreover, who gets sued when one of these things runs over someone ,the computer ???

What happens if you are drunk and your car is driving you home ? Does the car pull over automatically for the police car or does the policeman assume you are fleeing and so he performs the "Pit" maneuver on you :dontknow:

I will stand in a line at a checkout for an hour before I use the "machine" to checkout... always... and forever.

I will never get into a "driverless" anything... ever.

Sheesh I don't even pay at the pump anymore... and have ceased using cards altogether unless I absolutely have to.

They say cards are faster... heh... you tell me next time your in line.... pay attention... count in your head... some people faster than others... always.

UNLESS they have a handful of change... lol

I hear you on those automatic checkouts. :BangHead: You have 3 or more of a same item and the machine thinks there is an error and stops until someone can come over and reset it. Then you run another 3 identical items through and again have to wait for help to reset. As I got older, I learned patience, but there are still a couple situations where I have NO patience.

Tech that takes the job of a person will in the end hurt us all.

Guaranteed.

Yes, and then at the end they tell you they can't help you and to call back during business hours. :censored:

Simon,

The airlines have been using autopilot for years, however, when you have a plane free safety zone of 1,000 feet above and below that makes sense not on a highway with a load of imponderables.

That's also the reason the pilot takes over for both takeoff and landing where the greatest chance of mishaps occur.
