Radio show/cereal box ring?

Hey everyone yesterday at a colonial house i was metal detecting in the lawn and found a few nice things and some strange things. Ths rng was one of the things I found. Its very heavy. If i Scratch it with a knife on tjr top its silver and if i scratch on te band its gold in color. Someone mentioed maybe a radio show prize ring or a cereal box ring can anyone positively id it for me.

It doesn't look very comfortable for a finger ring. Maybe for a scarf?

This is an interesting piece, hopefully someone will recognize what it originally was. :icon_scratch:
It looks like it's made of cast white metal, which was then plated, so it was meant to be seen.

"Spelter, while sometimes used merely as a synonym for zinc, is often used to identify a zinc alloy. I
n this sense it might be an alloy of equal parts copper and zinc, i.e. a brass, used for hard soldering and brazing, or as an alloy, containing lead, that is used instead of bronze."

White metal or spelter breaks down very quickly in soil, your find looks to have fertilizer damage.
I hate the damage that fertilizer does to metals... that and horse urine. :laughing7:

The band strap is not 2 pieces but is adjustable for different size fingers.
