I had an extra rod sock that I didn't like the color of so for a test I cut it down and put it over my rod and cable. I hunt a lot of really brushy areas so I am hoping that this keeps my cable from getting hung up on stuff. Any reasons why this would be a bad idea? Also, do I need to do something about that cable loop at the bottom. I thought I read something the other day about running the cable straight up against the shaft for a few inches before you start coiling it to help on falses.
