Hello all
It's been a while since i posted anything(being winter n all :( ),and cant wait until the much warmer days of spring, anyway.

My ? about gold coins is: when one finds a gold coin do they come out of the ground clean like the silver coins do,or dirty?

I believe i know the answer but it doesn't hurt to ask

Ty and good luck,HH to those of you that can still dig

Here's one I found not more than 30 minutes out of the ground, $5 gold piece came out shinny as a full moon.

Not to say all gold coins come out shinny as I've found plenty of old Gold Jewelry coming out black.

Paul and Holiday are right. They come out of the grand shiny, no matter how nasty the soil, salts, minerals, etc... are. Silver, on the other hand, sometimes comes out bad in nasty soils.

Yea that's what i figured,i found a nickel sized piece of metal and is now what i believe to be brass it has a similar color to the gold coin posted but what i have is pretty cruddy.

thanks for the help and HH
Shawn
