quarters

.0000000000001% I would say.

Slim, but I got $90 recently and got a 1964 canadian and a Moroccan coin- but I've had streaks of thousands with nothing

I get one per two bags on average. So finding one in $200 would be one in five. JMO.
thanks dave. i think im gonna go for it.

Well this year I have found approx 0.235465869 silver (canadian + US) per $500 worth.

And $200 is 40% of one box.

so 0.235465869 * 40% = 0.0941863476

In other words about a 9.4% chance of finding one silver coin out of $200 if using my averages.

The chances of getting a silver quarter is really, really low. I've searched a few bags ($300 each or so) of quarters from vending machines (the older type that will take anything, silver, slugs, etc) and never found a single quarter. On the plus side I did manage to fill a full set of US state quarters to that date... But silver quarters are rare, halves are going to be the best for silver, then dimes. Searching quarters just isn't worth it, I've just started checking only pocket change when it comes to quarters, bags simply take too long for how little silver is in circulation.

The attractive thing about quarters is, they are the easiest to dump. The head teller at my dump bank told me she would take all the quarters I can get.

One thing is for sure: If you don't try, you have a 0.00% chance of finding one.
