If so, then I had a very nice, quality, hunt today. I decided to give the school I went to yesterday a break. Went to another one of my researched ball fields. Just went for about 2.5 hours but, it turned out very, very nice!

But, I'll let you judge for yourself.

The whole wheat toast was in there for too long, turned green. ;)

When I saw Ms Liberty, I figured I had my "star for the day".

Then, mighty Mercury out shone her. So, now, here was the star.

And then, OMG!!! (at least for a little bit. LOL )

It took me until I got home and did a tiny bit of preliminary cleaning before the
REAL star of the day made himself known.

Now, understand, this was "my" star of the day. Others may not agree. :)

The noble red man, and in simply wonderful condition!

Hope you enjoyed your peek.

HH!

OH YEAH! Because there will be no pictures I forgot my other star of the day.

I found an actual G.I. Dog tag today, from WWII. I won't be posting pictures because I won't post personal info.
What might be the best way to get it back to the family?
Thanks!

The VA should be able to give you SOME info on that vet.

I'd like to get it back to him or his family. But, I'm not looking to become a human interest story. I'd just like to be sure it gets to them. No thanks needed, it's more important to him and his descendents than it is to me. Maybe I could just send it to the VA? Let them get it to whomever?

I'm unfamiliar with rhodium. But, this ring did seem like it wasn't just thrown together. Not sure what the "stones" are but they are cut very well. I'm guessing the base is brass but it seems awful soft. :dontknow:
HH!

I'd known about rhodium before, but when I looked it up yesterday I learned it's one of the rarest noble metals on earth. From wikipedia: "Rhodium is one of the rarest elements in the Earth's crust, of which it comprises an estimated 0.0002 parts per million (2 ร— 10โˆ’10).[23] Its rarity affects its price, and thus its usage in commercial applications."

As far as I know, though, it's primary use in jewelry is in plating.

So, you're saying this ring is worth a mint? Right!?!?! ;) LOL

If it's that rare, how'd they ever get enough in one place to plate ANYTHING?!? LOL

Thanks for the info, makes this an even more special find than it already was for me.
I did think that there appeared to be quite a bit of work gone into creating this one.

HH!
