If so, then I had a very nice, quality, hunt today. I decided to give the school I went to yesterday a break. Went to another one of my researched ball fields. Just went for about 2.5 hours but, it turned out very, very nice!

But, I'll let you judge for yourself.

The whole wheat toast was in there for too long, turned green. ;)

When I saw Ms Liberty, I figured I had my "star for the day".

Then, mighty Mercury out shone her. So, now, here was the star.

And then, OMG!!! (at least for a little bit. LOL )

It took me until I got home and did a tiny bit of preliminary cleaning before the
REAL star of the day made himself known.

Now, understand, this was "my" star of the day. Others may not agree. :)

The noble red man, and in simply wonderful condition!

Hope you enjoyed your peek.

OH YEAH! Because there will be no pictures I forgot my other star of the day.

I found an actual G.I. Dog tag today, from WWII. I won't be posting pictures because I won't post personal info.
What might be the best way to get it back to the family?
Thanks!

Nice finds, congratulations:hello2:

nice very nice finds

Nice variety. All rings count, though I know what you were feeling.

As far as the dog tags, it would be great if that Vet is still alive. Here's a site you'll want to visit. Angelo's WWII Angels Dog Tag Return Project

Thanks! I'll check into that.

Yeah the ring shining up sure gave my heart a start! LOL

Still, a key date buffalo nickel isn't too shabby either. :)

that ring is sharp and congrats on the silver.

Nice silver, but that buffalo is sweet shape.

Thanks! I think so too.
I didn't even know it was worth that much. I just liked the way it was preserved.

Well, the jury is in, not diamonds, not gold (at least not 10k). No markings. A rather soft, non-magnetic, yellow base metal. May have been plated.

Funny though, for a "junk" ring this one seems to be constructed fairly well and substantial.

It was fun imagining for a while anyway. :)

That ring looks like it has some rhodium plating on it, putting it in an upper echelon of costume-type jewelry. That Buffalo is sensational, WHADIFIND. Well done!

The VA should be able to give you SOME info on that vet.

Quality over quantity any day. Congrats on a sweet (dated!) Buff nickel. Ring, silver and wheats, too.

I'm unfamiliar with rhodium. But, this ring did seem like it wasn't just thrown together. Not sure what the "stones" are but they are cut very well. I'm guessing the base is brass but it seems awful soft. :dontknow:

If I've read right, this buffalo is a key date too! :)

Thanks for the info!

HH!
