Offhand I'd say it was the glass paperweight pyramid.

Too steep for a Mexican or Egyptian pyramid. Pyramid of Djoser in Egypt has five levels . . . but no stair steps on the outside. As a guess yours may be representative of the Pyramid of the Moon in Teotihuacan, Mexico . . . kinda.

Look up images of ziggurat! An example of a type of low stepped pyramid built by the ancient Mesopotamians. In the works of Zecharia Sitchin, who has made a
life's work of deciphering clay tablets left behind by the Sumerians, the Ziggurats were landing platforms for extra terrestrial vehicles. Yeah I know!
Along those lines perhaps the black lighting is the way it is supposed to be viewed.

Nice find, congrats!

its a glass art piece that has cut/etched glass to make the interior images. Artist was probably inspired by ancient central/south american cultures as mention in previous post by charlie.

El Castillo (also known as the Temple of Kukulkan) is perhaps the most famous Mayan pyramid. Located in the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, in the Mexican state of Yucatan, it is a popular tourist destination with over 1 million visitors every year.

This woman could fill in the details :)
