I know, I know, y'all are probably rolling your eyes, but I'm happy! For three weeks, I've been puling clad out of my yard...total is about $5. I was so happy when something other than a memorial cent came out! This is my first coin that isn't common clad.

I actually cleaned it off better since I posted it. It's a 1949 wheat.

I'm not rolling my eyes ! We all have to start somewhere, and dig that "first" of all types of coins and relics. You just started in the hobby and you will be finding more and more as time rolls on. Before you know it, you will have been digging for 30 + years like a lot of us have been, and you will have more display cases and coin albums than you know what to do with. I see you live in Kentucky, a great state with a lot of history. You will find older items if you do your research. Be proud of that Wheat, and congrats on your first one.

I've already found some golden spots! Now comes the scary part. Permission.

What kind of site is it? Private property?

I only will ask for private property permission. The biggest one for me is ***** Furnace, the site of yankee and confederate occupation. Then there is a nearby church that harbored soldiers during the war, and a colonial house with a large
NO TRESPASSING sign on the door. I have never asked for permission before, but my dad has. I'm just really nervous that I might get rejected from these awesome sites.
