Thanks Ironman, she is totally involved in baseball and wishes to make it to the big leagues, her versatility is her strength, probably the best catcher on the team, probably the best first baseman on the team and a great pitcher.....Joe McDonough

Okay, the rest of the story, Akira and U S Elite lost in the championship game 8-3 to Langhorne. They finish 2nd out of 16 teams in the tournament. From her mom, Akira played great, hit the ball great and made some amazing plays at first base.

The future is very bright for Akira Kopec, a proud grandpa!.....Joe McDonough

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at Tnet. Akira has been invited to pitch for the U S Elite baseball team for the 2017 season. This will be a big change for her as she was pitching on the little league size field and now goes the a regular size field for teeners. Akira will be on the U13 team which will have an new coach who has been involved with the LL world series for 25 years. He is currently the baseball coach for the Williamsport Millionaire team.

Great news, happy thanksgiving everybody.....Joe McDonough

Update on Akira, Akira and her brother Luke will be playing baseball for MVP Sports Academy this year. Luke had played for Next Level and Akira with U.S.Elite baseball. The family has decided that MVP was a better opportunity for both to advance in their skills.
Training is year round and starts in January. They will play in the same tournaments as U.S.Elite but with a better team. I believe three of her teammates from U.S.Elite are also joining MVP. Should be a good year.....Joe McDonough

Thanks Samuel, looking forward to some exciting tournament play this year.....Joe McDonough

Okay boys and girls, time for the Boys and Girls of baseball to get started on a new season. Akira started to practice with the Wyoming Seminary baseball team last week. Akira and her brother Luke have been practicing all winter with the MVP Sports Academy.
That will be their travel team in the fall. Can't wait to get started, Proud Grandpa.....Joe McDonough

Akira has made the 7/8 grade boys baseball team at Wyoming Seminary. Could be she is the first to do so, I'll try to find out. She has had only one at bat and hit a solid line drive directly at the third basemen for an out.
She has not played the field yet. One lady in the stands said " Oh No! here we go" when Akira came to bat and it was great to see her face when Akira made great contact against big boy pitching.....Joe McDonough

Latest news from Akira's mom.
Akira's team played Crestwood today and won 9-4. Akira started in left field, batted second in the rotation and pitched a scoreless 7th inning to get the save! Proud Grandpa.....Joe McDonough

Akira's stats for the game 1 rbi 1 run scored two walks. Only her second game for Sem. Terrific

Hi boys and girls, Akira had her first start as pitcher for Wyoming Seminary tonight. She has been playing left field and coming in to close out the game until tonight.

Playing against Hanover, Akira threw a complete game(7 innings) one hit shutout! The one hit was an infield grounder , the first baseman missed the bag on the throw to first.

If not for that it would have been a complete game no hit shutout! I can't be more proud of her....Joe McDonough

Akira's team Wyoming Seminary is now 5-1 in league play having only lost to Dallas. Akira has pitched a total of 8 innings so far and has not given up any runs. Her regular position when not pitching is left field.

So far so good.....Joe McDonough

Hi Everybody, Just came from Akira's game for Wyoming Seminary. They won 6-1 against Holy Redeemer. Akira was benched for the first four and a half innings for having pitched in New York yesterday for MVP Sports. She was put in in the top of the fifth in left field. In the seventh inning she was brought in to close out the game. She got the save winning 6-1. Akira had two at bats both times working a walk. She stole second and third and scored on a error.....Joe McDonough

Hi Joe; CONGRATULATIONS to her & you. You gotta be a PROUD Gramps for sure. May God Bless her in her Future Journey's Best Wishes. God Bless You Both. PEACE:RONB

Thanks Ron, She has a secret weapon, The boys can't believe how fast and accurate her pitching is so she blows it past a lot of teenager boys. Five innings pitched in Tuxedo N.Y yesterday and 10 strikeouts according to my daughter. She has pitched 9 innings for Wyoming Seminary with one shutout and two saves only 1 run allowed in total.....Joe McDonough

Hi Everybody, I had to work monday night so I could not go to Akira's game.
Here are the results from Akira's mom.

Akira started and pitched a complete game against the #1 team in the league Dallas. Dallas scored one run on a error, ground out, pop out. That's all the scoring in the game, Dallas won !-0. All in all a spectacular game for Akira.

I am always wondering when the guys will finally bomb her pitching but she has pitched against the very best teams and so far Akira has been un-hittable to any great extent.....Joe McDonough

Great news all, Wyoming Seminary held their Spring Sports Awards yesterday. Akira was named the Most Valuable Player for the baseball team. Making more history, Proud Grandpa.....Joe McDonough
