When I got the MI-6 I wanted to find a way to protect my investment. After much searching, I found a gentleman who made tip covers for pinpointers. Since the MI-6 was so new nothing existed for it yet. It was important to me that whatever was used maintained the lines of the pointer and also offered the best protection when sticking it in the dirt. I was fortunate to be able to test these out and am happy to report that the fit is absolutely perfect!

$8 and free shipping which is a small amount to protect a $199 investment!

Thanks for finding these. I am kinda torn on the concept. Never thought of getting this for the Garrett and fully expected to get the MI6 just as dirty. I will have to think about this. As long as I don't have to keep pulling them off to remove dirt and debris that gets wedged down into the tip protector (like what happens with a coil cover) then it might be worth it, otherwise, I think the mi6 is designed to take the abuse just like the Garret and a good post-hunt wipedown with a shop towel should do the trick. I'm from the school of thought that the less shiny your detecting equipment looks in the field, the better (except for the Deus remote which I fully protect with screen protectors or water cases) because you blend in with the crowd better. But that's just me. Still considering it though, so thanks for the link.

You're welcome. It's a nice tight fit, so I don't think you need to worry about dirt getting in between.
