The badge is from a Dodge Prospector pickup. From Wikipedia-

Prospector - Throughout the 1980s, this package was available for the Ram pickup. In the early 80s, a special badge was affixed to the box side of the truck, but this was dropped in the mid-80s. Prospector was a package that usually included a different fuel tank, cloth seat and carpeting. In the late 80s, a light package as well as the large 6x9 mirrors were added to the list of options. This trim package was carried on until the redesign in 1994.[citation needed]
Express - The Express is a Dodge Ram 1500 that offered special badges, 20" tires and wheels from the Dodge Ram 1500 SLT, cloth seating surfaces, and a 5.7L HEMI V8 engine.

The crossed pickaxe and shovel on your example are mostly broken off.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but I would expect that the cap is a fence post cap. A radiator cap would have some lugs or other method to keep it attached to a pressurized system. It's kind of difficult to tell from the picture, but I'd put my money on it being something similar to this-

I think the cap is a bearing grease dust cap from the hub of a car or truck (maybe the Dodge mentioned above). Very much the same shape as the fence post cap mentioned above, except thinner steel and not galvanized. Could be off of nearly anything, including a trailer.

Thank You Krosp! That was awesome that you gave feedback on so many different items on here! And for all the information on the Dodge! We have owned Dodge Trucks since 1997, but I never heard of the Prospector before! Thanks for the link on the wrench, that was informative too!

Thanks nhbenz for your feedback on the cap thing I know the photo isn't that great but it does seem as though any time I find something that looks like a cap it always turns out to be automotive! Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

Thanks for the photo AU Seeker! I love photo answers! I love the prospector badge, I wish it had the pick and ax and it wasn't broken in the middle!
