I have been reading other posts and I see there is a lot of tension about the future of prospecting. Take dredging for instance, this is a very sore subject in Cal,
As Prospectors we need to stay together and not give up. I would like everyone to get involved and vent your frustrations out here and get some ideas out there.
Anything goes on this thread.

It is well past the point of sore and it keeps on getting older and older. :help:
And Oregon's limitations all in place with toy dredges only and they are pressing forward to folllow Cal into complete oblivion.

"Anything goes on this thread." Thanks, I would like to partake but don't want to lay it all out and get hot

Can you imagine the gold that is building up in the California rivers now?

When you see Halliburton or the U.N. doing "environmental river cleaning" operations there, you'll know where the gold is going.

i believe they are going to make it harder and harder for anyone to be able to obtain raw gold .once they can do that ,[make it where we cannot go out and get it ] they are going to go to a world wide gold standard. trying to fix the global economy.it's not just our country having problems. and the united nations is pushing for this to happen.

Hey guys, just called Tom Myclintocs office yesterday. He was in washington but I asked the staffer if our congressman knew if we were going to be able to dredge in the future. She said she would foward the messege to him. I wonder. I think we all know whays going to happen in the end, but I agree with Jog that we have to stick together. If we voice now maybe they will still let us use a small dredge. Has anyone heard any recent news lateley? John hoser seems to think we won't be able to dredge in the future is that right John? I tend to agree although I really don't know who started all the fuss- Indians on the Klamath- The sierra fund- or somebody else. Does anybody know the low down? And I didn't mean to offend anyone in an earlier post, I really like Cal.. I don't think the fisherman like dredging, but they should back us up because they will be the next off the river. Sinkers are lead-hazardous material. What about abandoned fishing line-kills wildlife. We all need to e-mail our congressman if we want any sort of freedom in the future. Hope 2011 is a good one. think your pretty close to being dead on strick.some variation of that.invest in america today.buy bullets, beans, and saw wood.but say nuthin.did i say that? :icon_scratch:new round of eir meetings in ca.wasted my time on stofer the gopher last year, was not worth the trip to redding.why drive an hour to be lied to.sb670 total sham, smoke n mirrors, totally illegal bill in an unconstitutional nightmareish police state.not too impressed with plp either.good intentioned i suppose, but underdogged and under manned, necessary funding that fight not feasible given our numbers and wherwithal.we are too small for world politics, and that is what this is all about.hows that for venting. :read2:

jimmygoat, no offence was taken bud. Just a little good razzing fun on my end. LOL :laughing7:
I like living in Cal, too, been getting sort of frustrating lately.

To answer your question - It was all started up north. A dispute between local indians and a prospecting club on the Klamath.
After years of court cases and pushing and shoving it ended up in state court where the courts decision was a new eviro report was to be completed, which hadn't been handled fast enough for there liking by the fish & game , so a state senate bill (dredge ban) was introduced by a puppet on string state senator and was sneakily passed for the emergency protection of a fish that is widely killed and eaten by many and so on and so on blah blah blah. Did I miss anything???
And it just keeps getting worse and running longer and longer.
The current low down is we are in the second delay awaiting to read and comment on the new eviro report with has no new studies or data, just reinterpreted old info, and based upon that the new regs for dredging. Stopher is a snake in the grass, watch out.
I would be real surprised if we are ever allowed to dredge again, and if so probably with the little tiny toy dredges with a real short season, kind of like Oregon. :o Sorry, jog.

Paches, nice picture.

Gravel Hog...
Dont be sorry, where fighting are own battle up here. Better to have some than none at all.
I just dont get how people can say that dredging is causing turbitity in the rivers, I wonder if they have even looked at the rivers and creeks in Cal, lately with all the rain there getting. If it wasn't for turbitity and erosion you wouldn't have rivers. How the He** do they explain the Grand Canyon?
The river behind my house has just cleared up from all the rain we had in the last several weeks, it cracks me up when you read the DEQ dredge permit and there saying that the fish are unable to see or feed due to turbitity. How do they explain all the fish that just ran up the river to spawn just above my house in fast running muddy water.
If you live in Cal, or any other state and have a digital camera, I think everyone should start taking pics and videos of all the rivers to show to anyone who will listen. That is natures way of creating a river.

If fish were unable to survive in turbid waters we wouild not have any fish!!!! They would all be dead.

tx jg.pic was about 9-25-09.off to the remotes after arnie waffled and i mean wfd! signing that bill. as he had been resistive to the previous 3 such bills,as trailed etc.now,301 feet means 301 feet to me.always wanted to try bench mining anyway.my xmas all

So we should just kick back with a cold one and just let it ride? I think that's what got Cal, into the predicament that there in now and it's just a matter of time before they come calling where you and I live, "OH" hold on somebody's at the door, to late there already here.
