Productive park hunt, and a beautiful tombac button
Hi everyone. This morning I headed to a park not too far from me that has a ball field area that appears on our 1930’s historic aerial photos. In 90 minutes I managed to dig about 32 coins - which for me is very productive.*
I was using the Equinox 800 with 11” coil and I have to say that in the park the Nox is better than the Deus. And I only dug around 8 bottle caps and pullltabs, which is a great treasure-to-trash ratio.
I don’t think this park has been hunted much, and I’ll be going back for sure.
The most interesting coin I found was a 1950 three-pence piece from Great Britain, and someone put a hole in it to wear it as a necklace apparently. (My first “holed” coin.)
And getting one silver dime - even a 1960-D Rosie - was awesome too.
I’ve included a picture of a very nice tombac button I found yesterday nearby (but not at the park) because I didn’t think it warranted it’s own post, but it’s too nice not to post. If the button had its shank and a design on the front it would be fantastic.
Thanks for looking!
*coins found: (5 quarters, 16 memorial pennies, one dollar coin [2010], 3 wheaties, a nickel and 5 dimes, plus the silver dime and 3-pence piece).
