Privy, Cellar Holes, Small Dumps, ect..

I was checking out some of these ground penetrating radar systems and I think I'm more confused then ever. I don't want to locate 100+ foot deep tombs or ore veins or water mains for that matter. I am interested in something that goes to a max say 10 to 14 feet and can show ground disturbances such as privy's and old dumps that have been buried for a 100 years or more or may even be under a clay cap. Is there any machines that are reasonably priced for such a task. Maybe capable of finding something the size of a cannonball a couple feet deep along a stone wall? I really don't have $50,000 to spend on such a system. Any recommendations? Any help in choosing a machine will be greatly appreciated. I'd also like to spend less then $5,000 if possible. Morning swr: The Fisher will do just nicely, as well as the other twin box units. The fisher is particularly good since it is normally almost too sensitive to changing ground conditions, It does not have ground balancing. Many veins, treasures, and changing ground matrix's, voids - outhouses - have been found by Fishers.

Thanx for the help. I'll look into the Fisher a bit more. I was trying to see a demo of the Fisher Gemini 3 vs the TM-808 on youtube but I couldn't understand the people in the video. I'm guessing they were Russian or German. How hard was it for you to figure out the Gemini 3? The easier to use the better. I am willing to learn a machine even if it does take a few months to learn what all of its moans and groans means. Thanx for the help. Swiz

I don't have a horse so that should make it a little easier on me. I just don't want to dig an 8 foot deep hole to find bigger hotrocks. Swiz
