To me it looks like something that came from Africa, maybe Indonesia? The wood looks like it was from the tropics like maybe teak wood? . It was used to process food IMO and this ancient type of blender has been used for probably thousands of years in places all over the world made from stone or wood. This little girl couldn't say much about this one she uses either, other then it works pretty good.
