Thanks to filmiracle and kuger for the ID. Found this at one of my old sites along with couple large cents (both 1838), a toasty british copper, some flat buttons, and a pocket watch.

It's interesting because a couple of weeks ago I found a "kettle coin" in the same location maybe 30 ft from this. 2 replica gold coin pieces in such a short period... Now where is the real thing?!!?

Yeah. The reverse has a tiny, tiny bit of plating on it still. You can't really see it in the pics.

Great stuff! That is one way cool winder. I was interested in the figural ones vs. the "plain, two-loop" types in terms of date range.
