In Savannah there is a prominent site on President Street where many detectorists have found many relics over the last 30 years that have dated back to the late 1600s. This site as many of the local detectorist know, is being developed into multi-family residential buildings. Over the last year and while the construction has been going detectorists have had permission to hunt this site during non working hours. The construction is in its last stages and the GC has banded metal detecting since the builds are out of the ground and Hardscape is being installed. A few days ago I noticed that a small area in the front of the site had dug out so I stopped and got permission to detect this small area. I had no expectations of finding anything since this site had been pounded, but you never know... Snagged this draped bust large cent. It has seen better days, but I love these coins! Finding these old US American coins gets me more excited then finding gold rings. I was using the XP Deus HF round coil with high discrimination and found it at only 2โ€ deep.

That coin right there would make my year. Congratulations on the last save from that precious ground that gave up the goods and stimulated the imagination for so many detectorist. RIP [emoji1317]

Nice save. It's a shame progress does this so often. You scored on the final day. Good hunting.
