I have one very similar, I bought at a gem show in KC. Can‘t remember how much I paid, but I bet more than $15! The bottom looks like it was in a fire. Seems like a tourist piece from 100 years ago!

Yeah, it could also be an old souvenir. There was a lot of interest in ancient history and archeology in the early 1900s.
