Found this today... anybody have an idea?? About the same diameter as an M1 30.06 round, but only an inch long.? The head stamp is:? ?A? ? 60? ? 4? ? 5.? It was located near Camp Harry J. Jones.? (think Pancho Villa)? Only problem is the head stamp places it after ALL the military was out of the area.? Right?

Okay, after reading all these ideas,I went to my gun nut library and dug out "Cartridges" by Herschel C. Logan (copyright 1948).In the chapter on blanks,on page 177,is the .45FA blank. It's total length is 1 1/32 inch.Same headstamp as yours.Used in the 1909 double action revolvers. The illustration looks just like yours.BANG!!!

Good work Don, I really appreciate all the effort, from you and everyone else that has been working on this! I think that Junkdigger nailed it this time though! By the way Junkdigger, I found another picture of you. I'll attach it on here for you! Be sure to catch my new finds on the Metal Detecting forum. Got a couple of good ones today! Title: More Pre WWI
