Hey Gypsy...here's a bit of family history on Mr. A.C. Brenckle.
He was born: Arthur C. Brenckle on 24 September 1879 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
His father was John, who was born in New York and who's parents came from Germany.
His mother was Mary and she was born in Wisconsin.
His siblings that I could find were: Jacob and Alice
His father's occupation was CIGAR MAKER.
Arthur married Helen and they had: Marion J., Alice L. and Geneive L. (all girls). As per the 1910 Fed Census, he was 31 and only married once (to Helen) and at that time, were married 4 years (1906). Helen, who was 31 in 1910, had 3 children and in 1910, all three were living. Marion was 3, Alice was 2 and Geneive (Genevin?) was 6 mos old. Arthur, his wife and kids were all born in Wisconsin. On the 1910 census, they lived in the Milwaukee Ward 16.
Helen's parents were born in Germany.
In 1910, Arthur was a salesman for a cigar factory.
I can't seem to locate him after 1910...so he most likely passed away between 1910 and 1920. I did not search for his kids or wife.
I find a Milwaukee, Wisconsin Directory listing:
Name: John F. Brenckle
Location: r. 313 17th
Business Name: Williams & Brenckle
Year: 1889
City: Milwaukee
State: WI
For 1890...same address
Abit more googling...
....I found this link...could be his first daughter, Marion...based on the 1928 dated mentioned and her location.

Here are some articles I found in researching old newspapers. I was trying to find anything on A.C. Brenckle...but not much could be found. Does not mean it's not there...but just not all the papers are available online...
(so much data waiting to be put online).
Hope it helps some, atleast gives you a bit of history of A.C. Brenckle to add to your new found "potted cigar" find! Even researched "potted cigar" in the archives and nothing
Enjoy and great find!
