Potential LIDAR leads; Advice/thoughts WELCOME!!

In Vermont, I have found some interesting topographical details in the mountains near our family camp. I am excited to go explore these when the weather clears. However, in the meantime I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what I might be looking at, these features are found in a couple of other areas near hear. I am not sure if they are just boulders, although they seam so foreign when scanning the landscape. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

First off Jediparzival I would like to WELCOME you to a great forum. I have been working on Lidar and i am still trying to learn all i can about it.

It looks more like pits or depressions than boulders. The only way to really know is put boots on the ground...

I’m hoping they will take lidar pics of my state and name them public. I’ve not been able to find any so far. It would be nice to be able to see features in the woods.

Me too, after talking to Pops, I think I have idea of some of the features. Others need boots on the ground to assess!

Welcome! While I'm no LiDAR expert, what appears interesting in the first pic is the fairly straight lines coming to an approximate 90 degree corner pointing to 9 o'clock. As others have said, ground truth will help you determine what it is/was there.

Here there is a faint square, I have found buildings to be very faint at times. There is no structure here, and I know the area, I hope it will be my first excavation prospect!!

While there may be no evidence of a structure above ground, there may be below the surface. One way to find out is to do some probing by driving a metal rod into the ground. Of course, finding old nails with a metal detector will be good a sign of past human activity. Digging some test pits may turn up non-metallic pottery sherds, brick fragments, etc.
