Well Treasure_Hunter, Ruby and Lucky are very fortunate to have someone like you and your wife on their side.
Everybody should take care of their "companions".
My son had a 9 year old cat that developed a sudden and extremely aggressive ear cancer. He did all he could to try and beat the cancer but in the end, ( about 3 months ), they lost the battle. He had no Pet insurance, yet willingly spent over ?? to try and help her. They used some new machine that there are only two in the U.S. and so few specialists to operate it that the actual procedure took place in one state while the specialist doing the procedure was in another state. Complicated logistics process.
