Post your lf I knew then what I know now stories.

Would have stuck with detecting when I started in the early 80's. Gave it up because I was too self conscious when out hunting.

I would have saved all the money I ever spent on partying and women....so I could spend it all right now on partying and women

...with money left over to buy the (now needed) Viagra, Cialis, Propecia, Rogaine, Geritol, Depends, etc... :laughing7:

For me, the answer is easy:
I would have bought Qualcomm stock before it skyrocketed. Ditto for Intel and Google.

More importantly, I would have made more of an effort to treat everyone a little better. Wait, there's still time for that...
And, I would have spent more time doing the things I WANTED to do, rather than things I "needed" to.
As they say: "Take care of the luxuries, and the essentials will take care of themselves."
I don't know if that's true, but it might have been nice to find out.

I think that stops a lot of newbies having people stare at them...but ask us if we care now, lol!

I would have bought Qualcom stock when my friend gave me a stock tip. Another friend of mine bought 10k worth last I heard in 2000 it was worth about 2 million then.

Not Saving for retirement early enough is where I screwed up.

All you youngsters out there, believe it or not you will get old, it happens to the best of us.

Start a 401k, or any type of retirement savings plan when you are young, despite what you think, you won't miss 30 or 40 bucks a week, and it will make a very big difference when you are ready to retire.

Working until you die is not something to look forward to, even if you love your job, it will be nice to know that you have the option to walk away from it at some point.

Yes, Ms Beepbeep, age does have some perks. I have since reached the older woman state of invisibility, perfect for detecting unnoticed.

.....not quite as invisible as I'd like, a woman walked up and gave me a quarter. Maybe I need more practice. :what:

I always laugh when people come up while I'm detecting and offer me change. I can't figure out why they do that. Do they think I'm detecting because I'm trying to feed my family? LOL

(on the flip-side, I've determined that I could make a good $5 a day in change if it ever came down to that. Couldn't feed the fam... but could definitely feed myself...)

Yep, I hear ya on that one!

They are unaware of the cost of the equipment we are using, probably wouldn't be handing us quarters if they were.
I prefer to "find" mine, but I'm not going to stand there and argue with them, I just want to get on with my detecting, so what ever facilatstes that the quickest works for me! ;)
