Eastern North Carolina. I showed my little arrowhead (Found on a creek in Western Arkansas post) to my poker buddies in a game that I have played in for about 12 years. Most weren't interested but one of them said "They find arrowheads in that field just up the road after it gets plowed and rain falls on it."
I knew where he was talking about. I said "I have wanted to hunt that for years. There is always some trash in it so I think I will pick up some trash after it gets plowed this year."
He said "I have lunch once per week with the man who owns it. He'd probably let you hunt it if you asked, but he would run you off if you didn't."
After the game I asked my buddy how to get in touch with the owner. He said "I'll ask him if it would be OK."
This field consists of one field of about 4 acres which backs up to a tidal marsh and about 20 acres across the road. I'm optimistic to say the least. Will post finds if it works out, plowing time is near.
Anyway, the moral to this story is to talk to people and ask. I probably could have been hunting these fields for the last 12 years.
