Looks like a railroad spike

Maybe from a rail in a mine? It is to small to be very effective for normal sized rail.

Could be, or maybe small gauge for logging. Look at picture I posted. It has a small spike.
I've never seen a small one. Cool find.

Look's like a RR Spike to me as well, but what better to use as a 'Tent spike' I you don't have any.

I'd Chip the rust off & look at the bend of the head to see if there is a "wear pattern' for lack of better words ....look to see where the head & neck come together to see if it look's like it took the Weight of Many trains over the years. As it held the Rail in place.
I may not know what I'm talking about. but Oh well'

Nice find esp , if smaller than modern RR Spikes.

I've found RR spikes at CW sites that aren't close to old or modern RR tracks. I remember reading an article by Quindy Robinson, a well-known artifact hunter, advising that he has dug RR spikes at CW campsites. He thought that they may have been used as tent stakes as well.

N. O. Noir,
Thank you for that comment. I remember one found at lookout mt by a group on private land there. It was said. That there were small spikes used for tents staking per Mr Wormsley. A notable cw artifact hunter.
