I got this 2005 d nickel back in change today and between the E nd T there a dot mark. I looked its not dirt or something stuck on there. It's a mark like the letters. I just wanted to know if its supposed to be there or is it something of value.
Faith, I recommend you get a copy of the Cherrypicker's Guide to Rare Die Varieties of United States Coins and Strike It Rich With Pocket Change. Both books will teach you how to identify legitimate errors and die varieties and how to identify other types of non-rare things like post mint damage and strike doubling.
