Is it just me or does it look like this coin has the thick edge of a KG1?

Could be. Need better pics...

Place your coin on a medium dark, non-reflective surface (not in your fingers).

Take the pics in natural light if possible. Both sides with a modern coin in the pic for size reference.

Coin size and weight will also provide substantial clues.

I converted your measurements to mm and grams - 28.5 (ish) mm, 1.6 mm thick, 9.8 grams

I think that puts it in the range for a KGIII halfpenny.

I also found a kg1 halfpenny with a diameter of 27 mm and a weight of 10.3 grams. The scale I used can only weight to the the thick of a oz so the amount in grams would be slightly different.

I also measured it with a ruler because I don’t have a caliper so the length would be a little different as well.

That thick rim is throwing me off. Maybe not a KG at all?

BTW - I hate to be a noodge about your pics, but the bright light that close and at that angle actually washes out more detail than it shows...

Actually I think it might be a mass state coin.
