Most is hollow in the middle like bone, but shape doesn't fit. Outside covered in possibly pottery or some kind of cement. The main material is chert. The inside is filling with limestone. Found in cave dwelling. Thanks Ray

Picture is too blurred, can't make out fine details. Do you have a micro setting on your camera. Should be identified by a little flower figure. Monty

Still a little blurred but better. I meant Macro instead of Micro ::). I haven't a clue what that is however. You might try making one of those folgers coffee can electrolysis machines and cleaning a lot of the rust off. I just built one but haven't had a chance to use it on anything really rusted yet. No rust it is all rock. Inside hollow filled with limestone that caused the external cracking. the rest is mostly chert with some type of smooth rock coating it. Thanks Ray

My gut instinct is that what you have found is natural and not man made. I cannot see anywhere on the piece where it has been worked by man. I have found similar items in the past while digging in caves that I thought would qualify as an effigy but they proved otherwise. I hope that I am wrong , this is just my opinion and I am not an authority by any means....Steve
