I found this along a stream right off of the Susquehanna River in Northeast Pennsylvania. Seems like silver and looks like it had a piece in the center before. It looks like a shoe buckle to me? Any have any input or guesses on age?

Btw- This is my first post here! I love exploring and looking for little treasures. I'm looking forward to communicating with like minded folks! :)

It's a nice thing... no idea if it is a shoe buckle :icon_thumright:

Yes, pics of the back may help. I APPEARS 19th century, Victorian in style, but I can't tell without seeing the back.

Looks more like some sort of pin then a shoe buckle. Good find either way congrats. Welcome to the forum

It does not look like a standard shoe buckle. Most have a slight curve and a hole for the rest of the mechanism to attach to , The top is a knee buckle just a little smaller but complete.. Dave knee buckle.jpg

Nice find! Sash buckle is my suggestion. If you search Victorian sash buckles, many similar show up. You might try a little older search. Good luck.
