in the following few photos you will find two unusual bullets that I found last year 17 of the blue type bullets and this one unidentified bullet that had a hard impact found in Navasota,Texas
I am under the impression that the cleaner blue bullet is from a Lemat revolver if so what was it doing in the area between Huntsville Texas and College Station Texas. PLease help me to identify these bullets and if possible ascertain an approximate value for them. The measurement for the Blue Lemat? bullet is 0.36 in and 9.1mm the unknown Texas bullet is 0.34 in and 8.6mm DSC02038.JPGDSC02037.JPGDSC02036.JPGDSC02041.JPGDSC02040.JPG

I'm afraid that your bullets are not from the civil war era. They may be old, don't know their age, but not from the war..... sorry. Tennessee digger

Agree. Relativey modern. The damaged one looks like a T/C Maxi-ball from the 1980's +/-

The second one I think is a modern .38 wadcutter, they are actually .358 in diameter, and yours is in the range I'd expect of a fired bullet.

The first one I think is a modern .36 cal muzzle loader pistol bullet, also fired, they tend to be in the .375 range unfired. I say muzzle loader based on the deep lube ring in the slug.

Sorry to have to say, it is definitely not a LeMat bullet. It is a modern-made bulet which looks somewhat like the civil war era LeMat ...so, I undestand why you (or somebody you asked about it) think it is a LeMat. Howver, the actual LeMat differs from your bullet in several ways.
1- Your bullet's base is thicker/taller than the LeMat's base.
2- Your bullet's groove is wider than the Lemat's groove.
3- Your bullet has a "raised belt" above the groove, which is not present on a LeMat
4- Your bullet's nose is shorter than the LeMat's nose.

Compare the differences in this photo of an excavated LeMat bullet and the photo of your bullet.
