It is a Very Nice Rock. Sorry, couldn't resist. I would advise you to go back though the post on this forum and look closely at the artifacts. I have seen several post by you and you have the right idea {or at least close} and eventually you will find real relics. You might want to post your location and ask if any local members will take you for a hunt. Good Luck and Keep Hunting. You Will Find something Special one day.

I agree that it's natural ..,,. I can see how the one side that comes to a point may look like an artifact but the rest of it being square and not looking worked cancels that out. I have some very large Quartz knives I have found that I can post if you would like to check them out. But I don't think I have seen any axes made out of quartz. In my area about 90% of the points I find are made from Quartz but they still used different material for axes as well as any pestles or grinding stones.

You will find many arrowhead in your area made of quartz. Mid state up. Look for gold in the quartz.

It's hard to tell from the photo if it's worked or just broken stone, but I have never seen a quartz axe that I can recall.:icon_scratch:

I appreciate it... Just something I been wanting to find. Its in tallapoosa county, Alabama... Seems like a good place. They got some land cleared off and got a small creek there. I've found a good bit of sign on both hill tops... Anyways maybe next time

Are they three hills together. Get smaller to the east?
