A poled tomahawk I dug a few days ago ............. the tomahawk side has been cut down for use as a hammer. This dates to before the Revolutionary War possibly late 1600's. Based on where it was found in Southeastern Virginia it very well could have been used as a weapon in the Revolutionary War. This also shows how weapons were later used as utilitarian tools decades later. One of these was found by Dan Frezza in Williamsburg 12 years ago and is pictured in the latest edition of American Digger in his article on the Garrett AT Pro. This one, however, was found with a Nautilus DMC II B. I really like this find! HH DEVONREX

Awesome! Brings back memories of Daniel Boone! Might check on getting it conserved. See other posts about preserving rusty artifacts.
