Polar Vortex Hudson River Diggin'

Since I have the day off on Mondays, I decided to hit my tried and true goldmine of a spot that never disappoints in the lower Hudson valley. Before I go further, let me tell you that at low tide at 6:15 this morning with a stiff north wind at 15 mph the temperature was sitting at 6 degrees with a wind chill of -5. It was damn cold! Below is my tally for one hour of swinging and digging this morning

Congrats. You wouldn't get me out there in this morning's cold weather! :notworthy:

The last notable and creepy object that was found was this porcelain boy that was found vertically standing up like a statue. While lightly cleaning it of the Hudson river slime, I noticed there was writing on the back saying "320 PG or P6". If anybody has any knowledge of something like this, can you please fill me in?

Hardcore at those temps. Nice finds

At those temps you'd have to let the glass warm up before bringing it inside! LOL

I like getting out when it is cold or slightly rainy because folks aren't out to stare at you or fuss. As long as I can chip through the ground or my equipment isn't too covered in mud, I am okay with foul weather. I hate detecting or treasure hunting when the weather is too pretty because it is too busy out.

Getting through frozen ground is key. Thats why I try to hit the low tide. Soft wet soil.

Re ID on bisque doll

That little guy you found is made of bisque and called a Frozen Charlotte. The numbers are mold markings and if you Google 320 P6 frozen charlotte you will find her! Nice little find!

nice finds gz! :icon_thumright:

You must have an incredible pair of gloves so your hands don't freeze!
Nice finds!
I think this has to be one of the longest, snowiest, coldest winters on record, if not it sure feels that way!

love the bottles--nice finds !!

Great finds, great pix. You are hard core, got there just before the snow too.
