I PULLED A 1916 MERC OUT TODAY AT ABOUT 8 INCHES IN GREAT SOIL. OH BOY WAS IT CHIRPING ON MY EXP 2. THE RIM IS A LITTLE WORN, SO I AM GOING TO BRING IT TO A COIN DEALER TOMMORROW BECAUSE IM PRETTY SURE THERE IS AN S OR D MINTMARK. IM GOING TO SCAN IT SOON TO SHOW A PIC FOR EVERYONE. MAYBE THE MINTMARK IS MY IMAGINATION.AT AN ANGLE IN BRIGHT LIGHT IT LOOKS LIKE A D. WE ALSO HAVE PULLED BARBER QUARTES FROM THIS SPOT ALONG WITH BARBER DIMES AND ABOUT 75 WHEATS IN THE LAST YEAR. WHEN THE FINDS BECOME LESS AND LESS I TURN UP THE SENSITIVITY AND ALWAYS MANAGE A BIT MORE SILVER FROM THIS SPOT. ANYWAY THANKS FOR LOOKING AND HH. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION ON MY SCANNER I THINK ITS JUST A PLAIN 1916. :dontknow:
