PLEASE Help with buckle with heart? solved... harness buckle shield

Found this buckle with a heart on it today.
It kinda seams horse related.
Does anyone have any ideas on name or age?

Actually it's a buckle cover and I believe it is horse related. It you google Civil War heart buckle cover I'm sure you will find one. They are quite common.

I'd guess your's served the same purpose.

Great I.D I.P!These are commonly mis-ided as Confederate bed roll buckles(first one I dug I really thought I had something!)but like you said they were buckle covers

Yeah, someone was telling me I had some nice cw finds and I just lol'd! They are all brass cept that little one btw.

No thats what I meant.....I dont know the time frame they were popular?I was just saying the couple I have dug,were not from the pre C.W. type of sites I normally hunt.
