Th single photo you posted is out-of-focus. For certainty in identifying your bullet, we need more photos, and clear focus.

That being said, your bullet SEEMS to be what is called a "Ringtail" Sharps. Also, your bullet seems to still have the casting sprue (a leftover from casting the lead bulet) on its base. Normally the casting-sprue was cut off.

"Ringtail" Sharps bullets made their first appearance in the mid-1850s and were used by both yankee and Confederate cavalry during the civil war. (The Sharps Rifle/Carbine was mostly issued to cavalry, not infantry.)

There are several varieties of "Ringtail" Sharps bullets. As I said above, we'll need well-focused, closeup photos to identify which specific variety you found.

ill try to get a better pic of it tonight. i thought i seen one on here that was worth quite a bit but it had the portion cut off bottom. also its wierd cause that little piece in bottom is very round. so i dunno. i always thougt it was a oddball bullet or a pistol bullet stuck in bottom. haha

Can someone help in this bullet. It appears to have 3 lines but can't find the same one in the book. Plus it's not a flat base it has the lower ring where most ringtails have but this one is completely rounded
